What is Random Superpower Generator?
A character who can do anything is hard to challenge. Draw a familiar power with a built-in limit, then imagine a scene where using it requires a difficult choice.
The library contains 16 fictional powers in four groups: Movement, Elements, Senses, and Protection. Descriptions and limitations are original writing prompts, not rules from an existing game or comic universe.
How to use Random Superpower Generator
Choose a Power type or leave All selected. Enter 1–10 results and select Generate Superpowers. Each result appears below the controls with a name, effect, and limit. Select Copy Results to paste the ideas into your notes. Each group has four entries, so lower the quantity for a filtered batch.
Features
A batch contains distinct powers. Each eligible power is equally likely, and later batches can repeat earlier ideas. Flight, for example, offers freedom of movement but becomes difficult to steer in strong winds. The limitation makes a scene easier to develop.
Use Cases
Create a tabletop character, start a writing exercise, or give a supporting character a memorable role. For a codename and background as well, use the random superhero generator.
FAQ
Are these existing superhero powers?
The concepts are familiar fictional abilities. Their short effects and limitations are written for this site rather than copied from character profiles.
Can I edit the limitations?
Yes. Treat the results as starting points and adapt them to your story or game.
Will powers repeat?
Not within the same batch. They can return when you generate another batch.
