What is Random Ingredient Generator?
Pick cooking ingredients from 100 options. Filter by category, exclude exact names, and copy up to ten unique ingredients for your next cooking challenge.
How to use this tool
-
Choose an ingredient category, or keep All categories to use the full list.
-
Optionally enter exact ingredient names to exclude, separated by commas or new lines, such as tofu, rice. Unrecognized names are shown below the controls.
-
Choose 1–10 results, within the matching entry count, then click Pick Ingredients.
-
Your ingredient cards appear below the controls. Use Copy Results to save the names.
-
Change the category or exclusions to clear old results, then generate again. Exclusions match names only; they are not an allergy filter.
Make the result your own
Start with one ingredient, then choose a cooking method and supporting ingredients yourself. The five browsing categories contain 20 entries each; they are not dietary or botanical classifications. Use the exclusion field to remove individual names you do not want in a draw.
Data and naming vocabulary are maintained locally. No account or external generation service is required.

FAQ
Does this generate a recipe?
No. It picks individual ingredients for inspiration, not instructions, quantities or a tested combination.
How do exclusions work?
Enter exact names from the list, separated by commas or new lines. Capitalization does not matter. Unknown names are reported and do not exclude anything.
Can results repeat?
Not within one draw. Separate draws can return the same ingredient.
